Prof. C. Gearty, Professor of Human Rights, LSE questioned the survival of Human Rights in the Hamlyn Lectures, Cambridge, 2005. In the Age of relativism, uncertainty and anxiety, he feared the stifling of these rights on the wake of War on terror, Revival of political religion and Steady erosion of the world’s natural resources. Perhaps, Professor might have one more add-on, if he would have delivered the lecture this year. Rise of RED in its present form has not only imperiled ‘the great civilizing achievements of modern era’ but has also made a distance from Charu Majumdar’s Red Advocacy.

The demonstrations, the people of this country showed, against the verdict in the Binayak Sen case countrywide was not just the protest against Travesty of Justice but somewhere an endorsement to the Red Ideology, if elongation is tolerated. Serving people is not conspiracy!and Supporting people’s struggles can never be sedition!! Was the similarity between civil society’s awaaz and CPI (Maoist), Central Committee’s Press Release on December 24, 2010. When combing operations are terms as “The Heart of India is under Attack”, the abduction of the collector is wrong step on the part of Maoist.
Though it will be an irresponsible statement but the possibility of ruling and Maoist collusion can never be cast aside. But if surmise is true, why will they? Government conveniently take the confidence in Assembly, Opposition showed their physical toughness in Assembly, Collector R Vineel Krishna is assured that good job never get in waste, Interlocutors G Hargopal and R Someswar Rao get popularity. But Lal ka Tees Maar Khan wali image toh gayi na!! Distrust of People and Betrayal to Adivasi became the reality. Protest shown by thousands of tribals at Chitrakonda and yesterday at the Capital of the state is the evidence of it. Government succeed from diverting attention from Dal Scam but Maoist’s anti-tribal image made the people to raise question: How better is Red from the Tender Mafia at Cuttack? Abduction of Sambalpur collector H K Dash might have given some good name though it is heinous to abduct some1. It will be again an immature and irrational statement to make but can very well be argued if Gun is the means of Change, which Maoist are talking about.
The collector and junior engineer Pabitra Mohan Majhi should be released soon. In end I would say if it is a consequence of any nexus, it is just a Miscalculation on Red’s side and should be rectified at once..
Can’t I sit still? No, just I can’t… I can sit idle when my college is not agreed to sponsor or arrange sponsor for my Florida trip. I can sit quiet when one by one teachers of our law school start leaving. I can sit silent when the political pundits of this country were debating on comprehend political underpinnings of the episode that prompted Jaswant Singh's expulsion. I can sit like a good boy, without writing anything in my blog, even after taking heed the creativity of media in India, from the one-liner- 122 people died after hearing YSR shock death story. But I can’t sit still when government is about to do something which of public concern.
The IAF has sought permission from the Defence Ministry to open fire in self-defence whenever their helicopters or air crew operating in the Maoist-infested areas come under attack. Air Chief Marshal P V Naik said that the Air Force, has a greater role to play in the offensive against Naxals, be it higher reconnaissance or surveillance, troop movement and also for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) recce. He further said until the request is accepted, the air force will take "tactical measures" to minimize the threat to its helicopters. "We take precautions in terms of the altitude we fly at, the way we descend and the uniform we wear," he said. The air force plans to use armored and not light helicopters, for its operations.
So, the question here is should the government give permission to fire in self-defence?
Terrorists fire... They hardly care who is dying. They just want bloodshed. That’s all. But if IAF is allowed today; what difference will it make between the crude, inhuman terrorist and the IAF of my country. How will I say this is a terrorist organization and this is a State, with whom I have contracted an extraordinary contract, as social contract theorist would say, by surrendering my rights and liberty? Retaliation will result the death of innocent civilian. It’s obvious. Mr. Naik has also accepted this. But oh my God! Why you want to kill civilians? Show your dum (bravery), if you have any, to Chinese and Pakistanis.
Secondly, when the IAF chief was asked why the IAF was not attacking the Naxals now, Naik said unless the government declares them as "enemy of the state", the Air Force would not be able to fire, because it would amount to opening fire at its own citizens.
Now here my question is should the government declare them as "enemy of the state"?
I have not given them basic amenities… I have not given them job…I have not given them their requirements and when they demand, I played politics with them. Now when they are standing before me with arms and ammunition, I called them to surrender those ammunition…I also declared money in return of those stuffs…and now is it wise to send my IAF to just kill them, saying “enemy of the state”? Three extreme Left outfits — Communist Party of India (Marxist Leninist), Peoples' War Group and Maoist Coordination Centre — that merged to form the CPI (Maoist) are already banned along with their front organizations. The party was banned on 22 June 2009 by the central home ministry keeping in mind the growing unlawful activities by the group. "The Maoists are terrorists," said Chidambaram. But is it wise to do so. Rather they should be combated politically and administratively. The government should do something to beat back the Maoist challenge in the country. The ultimate objective is to install a "people’s government" via a "New Democracy Revolution". The CPI-Maoist intends to carry on the new "democratic revolution, which would remain directed against imperialism, feudalism and comprador bureaucratic capitalism." the CPI-Maoist points out that in India the ruling classes, subservient to imperialism, have transformed the country into a prison-house of nationalities under the so-called slogan of "unity and integrity" of the country. The CPI-Maoist put forward a new Constitution based on the "Bolshevik principles of democratic centralism, with the core comprising of professional revolutionaries." It will be underground for the entire period of the New Democratic Revolution and its members will comprise the cream of society — principled, selfless, courageous, dedicated, modest, hard-working and fully committed to the cause of the Indian revolution and to socialism and communism. It will continuously view itself and its members self-critically in order to correct non-proletarian tendencies that inevitably enter the Party and seek to corrupt it from within. The ideological basis of the Party is Marxism-Leninism-Maoism. Here I could not able to appreciate why government should declare them as "enemy of the state."
Let the government sit in table with them. Discuss their problem and demands. Agree if they are reasonable. Bargain if irrational. And finally bring its people to the main stream. Killing is not a solution. You killed a maoist and the very next day, his son, daughter, wife, brother and sister will stand before you. How many will you kill?
I don’t have any say in governmental decision making process and it is even unreasonable, irrational and illogical to say that my blog shall have but you know I just can’t sit still...
